The Founder of Parivartan Social Service himself Mr. Paul Vincent is one among the beneficiaries dwelling in the slums of Bandra East in Mumbai. He too came from a very low income family who struggled to complete his education as the income in his family was very low.
He along with Bernard Kersten O. Praem while walking over the streets of the slum in Bandra east found many children idling away their time by not going to school due to poverty at home or has to take care of the younger ones when their parents go for any labour work.
It was also found that many of the slum dwellers do not have their one time food due to unemployment or no earning members in the family as a result the children are forced to begging. Most of the time these poor in the slums do not get timely medication as they do not bother to consult the doctors when they are sick due to financial problems and they die a tragic death.
In order to help these slum children and the poor families the Founders contacted some social workers and they came together in the year January 2004 and formed this organization called PARIVARTAN SOCIAL SERVICE.
